This
calendar is rooted in the traditional 260-day Mayan time cycle
called the Tzol'kin, one of many components of what we call
the "Mayan Calendar". Jose Arguelles more recently took the
steps of setting where we are in that time cycle for contemporary
astrological times, updating the Signs for modern people,
and adding the colors implied by tradition.
This
Keeping Time Calendar has emerged and evolved as an expression
of my experience of living the days, moons and years, and
the connections I've made with the Signs and Numbers, and
the dance of the planets and stars. It is unique in appearance
from what has come before, with new graphic depictions of
the Signs and a new way of showing the circling and spiraling
of time.
