To tell time using this calendar...

  • Dates are written: June 30th as 6/30
  • Look for the Date, along the Spiral.
  • Next to the Date, is a Mayan Number,
showing where we are in the 13-day Wave.
    (Day 10)
  • Next to the Date and Number, is the
    Sign (Night).
  • June 30th is a "10 Night day".
  • For dates on the inner part of the spiral, use the Number next to the date, then follow it out to the Sign. 7/22 is a 6 Serpent day.
That's it. You're Keeping Time…

What's with all these colors?

The colors of the spiral show the 13-day Waves. The color changes when we begin a new wave.

The thin line, shows the color of the realm,
a larger chunk of time, which is made up of four waves.

Number of the Moon

What you see above is a slice of the continuous spiraling Tzol'kin, one Moon's worth, which is 28 days. There are Thirteen Moons in a Year, (instead of the 12 uneven Months we're used to). The new year begins on July 26th.

This is really two calendars, joined together. The 13 Moons of the Year meet the cosmic Tzol'kin round that colors the Days and Waves, creating a unique design of time.
